Hey there! I know, you thought that I was gone, right? Not gone, but my life has changed considerably since my last post. Good stuff, though!
When I left you last, I was studying like mad, doing a practicum and absolutely FREAKING OUT about getting a job. The last part I didn't really mention here (since this is my happy place, you know) but I was seriously worried that I'd up-ended my life, spent 2 years studying and going an unmentionable amount into debt and wouldn't end up with a job. However, in a strange twist, I got a job before I even finished school! I'm now one of two librarians at a middle school about 15 minutes from my home. When I got the job, I literally *danced* around (ask my husband, I really danced around) for about 2 days straight.
Because I got the job before graduation, I was pretty busy juggling school work, my job and family stuff for several weeks there. Pretty much every project was put off until summer break. Since summer came (YAY! This job rocks, I get the summer off!), I've been fitting in as many little projects as possible. Most have been kind of boring (going through my grad school binders), but some have been fun (working on a travel journal for our Disney trip, decorating our dining room). I've been spending time with Hope & Glenn and exercising a lot.
And, that brings us up to date! Right now, I would love to keep writing and posting here. I do projects and see things and somehow, I feel like I need to share them. I'm going to work on my commitment to the blog because I feel like it keeps me in touch with who I am.
Here are a few pictures of what I've been up to in the past few months. I've posted a lot of these on Instagram, so if you are interested in my daily doings, check out my Instagram feed (to the left of this post).
My very slowly growing flower garden. It remains to be seen as to whether these will survive a Virginia summer -- I'm very much in a trial & error stage in gardening. My vision of an English garden persists!
This one is fun -- I cut my finger while preparing dinner in early July & neeeded 5 stitches -- ouch!
I hope that you are having a fun summer!
