Again, I haven't been a good blogger. I have taken on yet another activity, 'cause ya know, I'm not already busy enough with going to grad school, keeping up with a 7 year old, my house and running an online business. In order to gain in school experience and have a paying job for the first time in 3 years, I have started substitute teaching. Oh my Lord, it is a challenge. I have only done a handful of days so far, but they wipe me out! If you know a teacher, go give them a hug and a bunch of chocolates -- they need it!
However, because there have been a lot of days off school this month, I've been doing some things to get ready for Christmas. I'm definitely not a "stick up your tree in November" kind of girl, but I do have about 50 people coming over the second Saturday of December, so I need to get started on baking weeks ahead of time or risk a breakdown on the morning of the second Saturday of December! Hope helped me out with peanut butter kisses one day:
That same weekend we decided that we felt like doing a little Christmas crafting (I suggested Thanksving crafts, but Hope vetoed them).
In the spare moments that I've found for myself, I've been antiquing and scrapbooking. I spent an entire morning playing with paper one day & was in total bliss:
I picked up the milk bottle in the front and starch box on recent antiquing outings. Glenn has promised that he will build a glass doored cabinet for the kitchen in which I may display my vintage goodies:
I'm hoping that the cabinet will look something like this picture that I found on the blog Vintage Home Love:
Finally, I found these sweet bird prints at an antique shop. I think that I'm going to put them up in the guest room, where I'm thinking of doing a yellow/black/gray color scheme. I'm going to use the toile bedding that I already have with black and cream quatrefoil curtains and maybe a soft yellow paint on the walls.
As always I have lots of ideas!
