I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did -- we spent it with my parents, which was wonderful. I love the peacefulness of Thanksgiving right before the rush of Christmastime.
We continued our tradition of getting our Christmas tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but this year cut down our own tree. A friend gave us the heads up about a farm that isn't too far away, so we thought that we'd give it a try.
To get to the best trees in the back field, we hopped on a flatbed trailer & took a ride.
After a considerable amount of "it's too tall/short/needles are too sharp/has a hole in the back", we found the perfect tree.
When we were done, they hauled us & our tree back to a shed where you could enjoy some hot cider. I was a really nice change to cut down our own tree rather than go to the local home improvement store. Driving out in the country and sipping cider on the farm seemed to extend the relaxation of Thanksgiving a little longer.
