The New Gray Bathroom

I've got to admit, there was a time that the words "gray bathroom" would have never been used to describe a room in my house, but I'm really liking it!  To catch everyone up, we re-painted & re-foofed the hall bathroom for the upcoming sale of the house.  Here is what it looked like previously:

Not bad -- very vintage & girly.  We needed to tone down the girly factor as well as touch up the paint in places where damage had occured.  I couldn't find the exact paint color that we used, so I decided to go in an entirely new direction.

New paint (Martha Stewart's 'Heavy Goose'), new granite countertop & drop in sink (Lowes), new faucet (Lowes -old one was fine, but didn't fit in the new counter), new shower curtain (Target, on clearance), new curtain rod (Walmart) and new art.

The new art comes from one of my favorite sources, The Graphics Fairy. You'd be hard pressed to not be able to find a vintage image to your liking at The Graphics Fairy & it's all free!

I'm really liking the spa like feeling of the newly decorated bathrooms.  Let's hope that buyers do too!

Stuff Going On Around Here

The words around here are: staging, realtors, money stuff, snow days.  The staging/cleaning up process goes on...I painted our main bath a gorgeous pale gray last week, which I can't wait to show you!  Another big project last week was the re-organization of the pantry.  Not strictly necessary for the sale of the house, but it was a good excuse to satisfy my desire to copy these envy worthy spaces:

Mine is not so swoon worthy, but it's sooo much more organized & cute than before!

I was going to paint & do something to the walls, but then I decided that it didn't makes sense since we won't be here much longer.

Realtors...we've met with 3 (2 are on a team) and decided on the first team that we met with.  They were completely professional and seemed like they would be really aggressive in selling our home.  All of the realtors that we met with said that they loved our house, it looks great & that we should be able to sell it quickly...but, do they say that to everyone??

Money Stuff...we've been dealing with getting our ducks in a row with the house selling/buying situation, trying to figure out how much we can actually afford, and reconciling it with another big expense (big news soon to come!) that we are anticipating in the next few months.  Incidentally, no, I'm not pregnant, just in case that came to your mind.  Or adopting. Or adding another child to our home through any other means.

Snow Days...we had 3 snow days last week and there is a teacher workday today. It only actually snowed one day last week, but, welcome to Virginia.  I've been trying to figure out how to amuse Hope without letting her watch TV 24/7.  Crafts and running errands have been high on the list (yes, in Virginia, they cancel school even when it's perfectly safe to be out running errands).
