Remember how I posted yesterday that I went to Michaels to get a picture frame & mat? It was to finish up my latest staging project, the wall above the dresser in our kitchen.
I've been trying, as much as possible, to do my staging with things that I already have around the house. Since I'm normally drawn to to things that are unique, vintage & have personal meaning, coming up with "neutral" staging items has been a challenge!
I'm really happy with how this turned out. Pulled together, interesting but not cluttered. I pulled the wine rack from the top of the fridge, where I didn't think that it looked good and found the picture on the bottom right in my stash.
Reproduction vintage sales slip from a french wine store & reproduction wine lables, pressed between glass. Along with this, I also found a framed photo that I'd had up several years ago, but has been in storage since.
One of my favorite pictures of my Grandparents, at the party after my dad's bar mitzva in 1959. Apparently, they are offering a drink to the photographer. Love it! I know that you are supposed to avoid family photos when selling your house, but this is literally the only one that I'm leaving out and it really fits in with the rest of the items.
That left me with an open spot, so I went to my favorite source for free, fabulous images, The Graphics Fairy. As usual, she had exactly what I needed -- a drawing of a corkscrew, taken from an antique dictionary. I printed it on cardstock, got the aforementioned frame & mat at Michaels, and had framed artwork for less than $6!
I need to move on to other rooms in the house, but I'm currently lacking motivation. One day off is OK, right???
