I've been off the radar these past few weeks, without thinking much about posting. My life has been all wrapped up in the beginning of summer. My baby girl graduated from her pre-K program:
Hope with her wonderful teacher, Ms. Stacey.
I've been enjoying the abundance that the earth so amazingly provides this time of year:
Today's haul from the farmer's market: lettuce, cilantro, basil (pesto!), broccoli, sugar snap peas, garlic & green peppers. Hope & I also took a day off a few weeks ago to pick strawberries & snow peas. They were amazing.
We spent time with my family in Pennsylvania, visiting my hometown for the last time in awhile, I suspect. My parents, after many false starts, are moving from my hometown to Delaware. So, I will no longer have any connections right in State College. Happily, my mother's side of the family lives near State College & we took the opportunity to catch up with them at a picnic at their campground. Here, we watch my cousins fish:
Hope was very interested in the rainbow trout that my cousin Liza was catching. Liza let her put the bait (just bread) on the hook.
Other than that, I'm still looking for a job & still working on my shop on Etsy. Since Hope's pre-K program has just about ended & unemployment benefits have run out, she will be home with me full time in a few weeks (assuming that I don't get a job between now & then). This will be interesting, as I haven't been a full time at home mom since she was 16 months old. I'm coming up with a plan of art activities, visits to the library, parks & the local lake to keep us occupied.
I hope that all is well with all of you & that you are enjoying the beginning of your summers.
