This past weekend being a 3-day weekend, I spent a lot of time playing with my displays. And, I even found some time to slip into a thrift shop! I found the ironstone creamer (my favorite!) as well as the small octagonal plate & platter for a total of $8. I love thrift shopping. The creamer found a home right away in my living room, but I'm still mulling over a place for the plate & platter.
While playing in my craft room, I found a great piece of scrapbook paper, covered in wine corks....wait, I have a display with wine corks in an apothecary jar....an appropriate quote, a frame that I had sitting around & voila! Another display is created! I added in silverware tied with a bit of ribbon & a milk glass dish. I'll bet that you can't guess what is in the milk glass -- finials from iron fences! I found them at the Big Flea, several years ago, from a great dealer who always brings interesting stuff & hysterical stories.
While on this decorating roll, I found a place above my kitchen sink for a tole tray that has had many homes over the years. And, I hung up a cinnamon ornament that Hope & I made a few weeks ago. We cut out hearts from cinnamon dough, decorated them with white puffy paint & sent them to loved ones as Valentine's Day gifts. Glenn (this is why I keep him around) suggested that I make a fleur de lis to keep for myself. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Because I know that there are some of you (read: family) who are probably looking for a recent Hope picture, here is one of my future Picasso:
